Transforming an old market warehouse into a bustling diner? The men behind restaurants Franklin, Carter and Hugo's did it again, resulting in Café Panache. At the grill & cocktail bar you imagine yourself in New York's Meatpacking District, but in reality you are on the sidewalk of the Ten Katemarkt in Amsterdam West. Belgian designer Will Erens, of Antwerp-based design firm Puresang, chose urban chic interiors with lots of wood, steel and garishly colored lamps and tiles. The menu has its classics, from excellent steak tartare to sea bass ceviche and a more than festive fruit de mer. Café Panache is the ideal place for an evening of cocktail tipping and fine dining with friends.
